OTHER INFO:  Fitton’s start in darts came early in his life. As a schoolboy he watched the local men play during breaks at work. Once they returned to their duties at a local factory, Fitton was allowed to take over their game. After learning the basics of the game, Fitton joined a local team and quickly rose to the highest division available, winning more tournaments than losing.

In addition, he quickly advanced to the Super League and from there joined the Cheshire county club where he played for more than 20 years before moving on to Lancashire where he currently plays with many other well known professional darts players including Williams, Coote, Derbyshire and Roe. Fitton made his professional performance debut on the English team in 2001. Shortly afterwards he played in his first tournament as a player for the BDO in the Scottish Open in 2001. He has since become one of the top players in the BDO. Prior to his career in professional darts, Fitton worked as an undertaker.

His nickname, The Dazzler, comes from the tiny lights that lit up sections of older scoreboards used in local games. These sections lit up when a player hits the sections with the darts, with the brightest of these sections being the bull’s eye, which causes all one hundred and eighty lights to flash, urging the watching crowd to shout, “Light up the dazzler!” Fitton’s ability to repeatedly light up this section of lights lead to the birth of his nickname.
